If you are unable to get to a veterinary hospital or have an acute emergency we can help to assess and stabilize the patient along with providing transport to the closest emergency room or specialist for ongoing care. We can stabilize trauma victims, heat stroke, lacerations, etc… Pets involved in an auto accident should proceed to the nearest Emergency Room. We have access to a board certified critical care specialist for consult and direction whenever necessary, or if transport to a local ER is not possible. Referral to a local board certified specialist is always available during and after hours and we will refer to the local specialist or emergency room if overnight monitoring is essential.
IMPORTANT NOTE FROM DR. LEWIS ON EMERGENCY SERVICESIf you have an emergency during regular business hours the most efficient first step is to contact your primary veterinarian to see if they can get you in ASAP to be triaged. If they cannot get you in and it is life threatening then you need to proceed to the nearest Animal Emergency near your home. It is always best to locate the nearest one to you before you actually need it. If this is not a life threatening emergency and it is during regular business hours please feel free to contact us and if we are in your vicinity and traffic conditions permit we will gladly make our way to you during regular business hours.
In the event of a stray animal emergency or you found a stray animal you are not prepared to take financial responsibility for, please go through the proper channels and contact your local animal shelter, local animal control officer, or local rescue group as there are many out there! They will be able to get the animal to safety and hopefully rehabbed released to an adoption center. After regular business hours if you have an emergency please contact the nearest emergency clinic or newly formed mobile emergency care. Our team works hard all day and when end of day comes our priorities change gear to focus on our families, kid’s activities, and our own health. We hope that you will respect our decision not to see after hours emergencies as there are many well qualified and rested ER vets waiting to care for your pet through the evening hours. Emails, phone calls, Facebook posts/messages and text messages will not be responded to until the next business day. We hope that you will respect our decisions. We appreciate your understanding.
